This morning to the delight of at least one 4 year old boy, an auger was active at the corner, drilling a five foot deep hole for a column of cement to support our lamp post. The city workers installed the tube, rebar, and electrical conduit with an attentive patio audience and later the cement truck was back, filling it in.  I did not leave thumbprints on this column...

Soon a refurbished lamp will appear and our pirate mast that went in last October (just after our opening) will come down and provide a clear sidewalk along Nicollet.    

What's left? ...a bus shelter across the street...a few road signs...sod and trees later this fall...and finally removing the ROAD WORK and ROAD CLOSED signs. 

the end is indeed near - and then -- let it begin!
