Butter Book Club joins with Star Tribune's Conversation on "Caste"

  • Butter Bakery Cafe 3700 Nicollet Avenue Minneapolis, MN, 55409 United States (map)

The Mary Ann Key Book Club uses reading as a catalyst for conversation as we attempt to better understand past and current injustices – including systemic racism, other forms of discrimination, and bias that affects marginalized communities.

Join columnist Myron Medcalf in a conversation with community leaders Mahmoud El-Kati, Shannon Gibney, Lissa Jones-Lofgren, Ramona Kitto Stately, Terri Thao and Dr. Artika R. Tyner. Panelists will discuss "Caste: The Origins of Our Discontents" by Isabel Wilkerson and how individuals and society can dismantle racism and make real change for a better future. Collaborator: Star Tribune. Sponsor: Friends of the Hennepin County Library.

Note: Although we invite you to read "Caste: The Origins of Our Discontents" before this event, it is not required. Please note that panelists will be discussing all aspects of the book.
