open for traffic

Because my first conversation (off the record) with the project manager included the statement, we'll be done with the first phase by the fourth of July, I have based my internal progress marker onto that date.  It was quickly pushed to July 31, but somehow I thought that if the initial plan hadn't really changed, then the date shouldn't either.

So it was with some relief, but not a lot of surprise, that the construction vehicles are mostly off the street, the signs are pushed away enough for passage, and there is an arrow on 38th Street pointing my way.  Sidewalks are curing, and landscaping will finish in the fall, but , much like my October opening in the new space, it is open enough.  Soon, we'll just have these memories to look back to. On our way!
